Why did I become interested in Canine massage therapy ?

When my dog was a year old, I decided that we would train together for the “Canicross” (cross-country running with a dog). At the end of the first race, exhausted, I felt completely drained. Rude awakening the next morning!
Fortunately, in today’s society we have the advantage of medical care, and after a stint with the physio, I was soon back in great shape!
But my dog? Without complaining, she recovered on her own from the effort that I had imposed on her without thinking that it could be for her, as hard as it was for me. Filled with guilt, I began to massage her as I would a human being, and while I massaged I could feel her full complicity, as she began to feel the relief from the discomfort and tension. It was at that moment I became convinced that massage therapy was as essential to animals as it is to humans. If you could have seen the grateful look my dog gave me, expressing all her love and gratitude for having understood, even though she hadn’t at any time complained, of the fatigue that I had imposed on her. She had given me all she could; just in order to share my passion with me.
Ever since then, I have firmly believed that whenever we go running, her pleasure, in addition to being at my side, is the thought of the massage she will get on our return home!
